Running a fleet of 90 truck mixers, 20 concrete pumps from two batching plants is a challenge. Add to that the vibrant economy of Dubai with an apparently insatiable requirement for ready mix with significant traffic congestion and the challenge becomes even greater.

These were the daily challenges faced by Bushager Ready Mix, one of the leading players in the Dubai construction industry.

Skyline was selected to aid the dispatchers managing the fleet and enable them to move vehicles between batching plants and optimise both production and delivery resources. One of the immediate benefits was greater visibility over the fleet and more accurate information for their customers.

Since installation the system has evolved to meet other requirements from with the business. Using the Skyline Driver ID system driver productivity can now be measured, trip bonuses calculated and payroll preparation simplified. Vehicle movement information has also been enhanced with the zone reporting function providing data on departure and arrival to be reported. When coupled with sensors connected to the mixer mechanism loaded, unloading and unloaded status it also reported together with any delays on site.

This evolution of the system originally installed has provided measurable benefits throughout the business with direct cost savings due to efficient use of the fleet, lower administration costs for payroll and most importantly improved customer service.
