Volvo Construction Equipment fits the Enigma e-Touch

Volvo Construction Equipment fits the Enigma e-Touch immobiliser as standard.

Volvo Construction Equipment Division, Volvo Group UK Ltd, has responded to the increasing tide of theft of small excavators by fitting Enigma Vehicle Systems’ e-touch immobiliser, as standard, on their 1.5 to 2.0 tonne models supplied during the first Quarter of 2011.

Following the introductory programme the e-touch system will be offered as an option going forward through 2011.

The e-touch immobiliser is a multi-point immobilisation system that is fully compliant with the Thatcham P2 security classification. This provides users with additional protection and an added layer of security. In addition users may be able to negotiate additional insurance premium discounts as a result of this installation.

The e-touch product can accept up to 40 unique keys per immobiliser and these unique electronic keys can be programmed to disarm all machines fitted with the e-touch system. This provides users with unparalleled flexibility.

Both Volvo Construction Equipment Division, Volvo Group UK Ltd & Enigma Vehicle Systems share the same vision which is to provide their customers with the most effective security available in the market today. In addition the e-touch can be fully integrated, as an option, with the highly successful Skyline asset tracking and stolen asset recovery system. Skyline tracking is also fully compliant with Thatcham CAT5 requirements and provides a highly effective asset management and after theft recovery system.

Bob Moore, Operations Manager for utility equipment at Volvo Construction Equipment Division commented: “We are increasingly concerned about plant theft and have been offering the CESAR marking scheme since its inception. In our mission to improve plant security we have collaborated with Enigma Vehicle Systems PLC, a long term Volvo partner, to provide an Insurance Approved immobiliser. To provide our customers with even more value we’re offering the e-touch system as a no-cost standard option during Q1 this year, taking a pro-active stance in helping to protect their assets.

Volvo Construction Equipment Division markets wheeled loaders, articulated haulers, hydraulic excavators, graders, Volvo utility and road machinery products in the U.K. There are eight strategically placed customer support centres and a network of utility equipment dealers to ensure high quality customer support is maintained throughout Great Britain.

The Skyline system from Enigma is available in a number of standard and customised versions, several of which have been assessed and found to comply with a number of Thatcham quality accreditations. Enigma has won Thatcham accreditation in the coveted CAT P5 and CAT P5 Plus Aftermarket Tracking System categories as well as the P2 Immobiliser and the TQA Fleet Management categories. These categories are among those created by Thatcham to evaluate agricultural and construction plant security systems designed for after-sales fitment for compliance with the British Insurance Industry’s Criteria for Security Systems (Plant).
