CESAR

What is CESAR?

Datatag combine identification technology linked to a 24/7 secure accredited database to give you CESAR, a theft deterrent which helps the police identify stolen plant and agricultural machinery and parts.

Who is involved?

Historically the absence of a dedicated national plant register has meant identification of plant equipment and agricultural machinery has proven difficult. Recognising this as a major problem, DC Ian Elliott of the Metropolitan Police SVU (Stolen Vehicle Unit) recommended the introduction of a national equipment registration and marking system linked to 24/7 call centre to PTAG (Plant Theft Action Group). This proposal was accepted by PTAG and the criteria were laid down. After an extensive tendering process Datatag was selected by unanimous vote as the data-handler to provide what is now known as CESAR.

What‘s the benefit of CESAR?

In addition to its theft deterrent and identification properties CESAR also achieves one of the five stars recommended by Thatcham's 5 Star Initiative for construction plant and agricultural equipment. Further stars can be achieved with the addition of a P2 immobiliser, CAT5 tracking system, unique Key Security and cab guard peripheral security. A number of major insurers are offering discounts of between 15-45% for customers with 3 stars. Enigma has Thatcham accreditation for a range of products by Thatcham including a P2 immobiliser & CAT5, CAT5Plus tracking devices.

What does this have to do with Enigma?

Enigma are the first "security" company to gain level 3 certification for the supply and installation of Datatag equipment used in the "Construction Equipment Security and Registration" CESAR scheme.

As a result of this Enigma customers and Skyline users can now benefit from improved protection an increased layer of deterrent and the financial advantages derived from Insurance discount and lower theft claims.
