Thatcham also works closely with vehicle manufacturers to influence the design of new vehicles. Its aim to improve safety and security with research helping to produce designs which limit damage, whilst improving ease of repair following an accident.
The significant investment being made by Enigma in gaining Thatcham accreditation reflects the company’s position as one of the market leaders in the field of fleet management, tracking and security and reflects the very high standard of the products offered by the company.
Thatcham’s 5 star ratings will provide a layered approach to security, with 1 star being the entry point, rising to 5 stars for a comprehensive security package, based on the following key security points:

Under the proposed 5 star ratings scheme, a machine equipped with the Tracking/Immobiliser product and covered by CESAR (Construction Equipment Security and Registration Scheme) would qualify for four stars. The recommended minimum star rating for standard fit security for new plant is three stars.
